Oneonta State junior Eric Fortier (Pleasant Valley/Arlington) (Pleasant Valley/Arlington) scored twice today in leading the Red Dragons to a 4-0 shutout of visiting SUNY Potsdam in SUNYAC men's soccer action.  The win for Oneonta (7-2-2/4-0-1 SUNYAC) extended its current unbeaten streak to nine games while the Bears fall to 5-5-2 overall and 2-1-1 in conference play.  The win for Oneonta also set a program mark of 24 home games without a defeat, a streak that dates back to 2009.

Today's game was over early as the hosts scored twice in the first 16 minutes and four times before the first half was over.

Senior Gary Laronde (Wheatley Heights/Half Hollow Hills) (Wheatley Heights/Half Hollow Hills) opened the scoring in the 12th minute when he got his own rebound off the cross bar before heading it to the back of the goal.  Laronde's original shot was set up by classmate Nicholas Lange (Freeville/Dryden) (Freeville/Dryden), who crossed the ball from the right flank.

Lange also started the play for Oneonta's second goal with another crossing pass that went to Jonathan Kowalski (Glens Falls/Glens Falls) (Glens Falls/Glens Falls), who one-timed it to the foot of Fortier, who then finished the play with a shot into the lower right corner of the goal.

Fortier scored again in the 32nd minute off an assist from Laronde, who crossed a pass into the box, where Fortier was able to head the ball past the Potsdam keeper.

Oneonta's final goal of the match came seven minutes later on a direct kick by junior Dan Josepher (Manorville/Eastport/South Manor) (Manorville/Eastport South Manor).

Oneonta will be home again tomorrow afternoon when it hosts #12 Plattsburgh for a SUNYAC match.  Plattsburgh was defeated by New Paltz today 1-0.
