The Oneonta State field hockey team picked up a key SUNYAC victory today versus visiting Brockport, 3-2.  The win for the Red Dragons moved them into playoff contention ahead of the Golden Eagles should they finished tied in the final regular season standings.  Oneonta (9-5/3-2 SUNYAC) plays its final conference contest tomorrow afternoon when they host Geneseo at 1pm at All College Field.  The top four teams qualify for the SUNYAC tournament and, with its win, Oneonta sits in third place.

Three different Red Dragons scored in today's game with sophomore Stephanie Fiske (Marathon/Marathon) (Marathon/Marathon) leading the offense with a goal and an assist.  She scored the first goal of the game that gave Oneonta a 1-0 lead that they took into halftime.  She added her assist on the game-winning goal in the 56th minute.

Trailing 1-0, Brockport (7-6/2-3) tied the game in the 45th minute on a goal by sophomore Madison Buckley (Liverpool/Liverpool) assisted by freshman Alyssa Mills (Liverpool/Liverpool).

Less than one minute later, freshman Andrea Day (Greene/Greene) (Greene/Greene) put Oneonta back in front with an assist from junior Suzanne Wright (Hudson/Germantown Central) (Hudson/Germantown Central).

Brockport evened the score at two with a goal in the 53rd minute.  Sophomore Katie Kaminski (Eden/Eden) fed senior Kelly-Ann Henry (Glen Head/North Shore), who put a shot passed Oneonta goalie, Tess Tracy (Liverpool/Liverpool) (Liverpool/Liverpool), in the right corner.

The game-winning goal was scored by junior Ashley Morgan (Putnam Valley/Putnam Valley) (Putnam Valley/Putnam Valley), who took the pass from Fiske off a penalty corner before blasting it by the Brockport goalie.
