ONEONTA, N.Y.—SUNY Oneonta junior Jonathan Kowalski (Glens Falls) broke a 1-1 tie in the 82nd minute with his second goal of the season to lift the Red Dragons to a 2-1 SUNYAC win against visiting Fredonia this afternoon. Kowalski took a drop pass from sophomore Dan Josepher (Manorville) and blasted a shot to the upper right hand corner. For Josepher, who had just entered the game less than one minute prior, notched his second assist of the season and raised his team-leading point total to eight.

Fredonia (2-6/1-1 SUNYAC) had just scored the equalizer in the 78th minute on a corner kick. Sophomore Tyler Williams (Orchard Park/Orchard Park) sent a ball in low and senior Jack Flechaus (Brockport/Brockport) was able to redirect it into the lower left hand corner of the goal.

Oneonta (4-2-2/1-1 SUNYAC) took an early 1-0 lead in the 11th minute of play on a goal by sophomore Jeff Christian (Middletown). The Red Dragons earned a corner kick, which was played short by sophomore Dan Scott (Salt Point) to Christian. Christian then rifled a shot that beat the Fredonia keeper to his right. For Scott, the assist was his fifth of the season, which is tops for Oneonta.

The two teams went into the break with Oneonta leading 1-0.
