Box Score The SUNY Oneonta men's lacrosse team was outplayed this afternoon in a 12-3 loss at home against Hamilton College in a driving rain storm. The Continentals got off to a quick start and never looked back en route to the lopsided victory to remain perfect on the season at 6-0. The loss for the Red Dragons drops them below the .500 mark to 3-4.
Hamilton scored four goals in each of the first two quarters including three in the opening quarter by leading scorer Henry Burchenal (Summit, NJ/Pingry School).
Oneonta's only goal in the first half came from junior Scott Kellman (Suffern/Suffern) with 1:27 remaining in the first quarter. Oneonta was held scoreless in the second period and trailed 8-1 at the break.
Hamilton scored four more times in the final two quarters and Oneonta added two late goals for the final of 12-3.
Sophomore Chris Miles (Manlius/Fayetteville Manlius) made 13 saves in the loss for Oneonta while his counterpart, sophomore Max Vaikus (Hingham, MA/Hingham) made 14 saves to raise his record to 4-0 this spring.
Oneonta's will be in action again this Saturday when they open its SUNYAC schedule on the road at Potsdam beginning at 1:00 p.m.
