ONEONTA, N.Y. - Five Oneonta student-athletes have earned spots on the 2025 Academic All-District® Men's At-Large Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC). The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined academic and athletic achievements.
Receiving the honor for 2026 were recent wrestling graduate Avery Leonard (Milford, N.Y./Milford Central) and men's lacrosse student-athletes Aidan Boyle (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Yorktown), Ryan Lussier (Burnt Hills, N.Y./Burnt Hills Ballston Lake), Riley Royals (New Hyde Park, NY/Herricks), and Trey Fee (White Plains, NY/White Plains).
To be nominated, student-athletes must be a significant contributor to their team with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at their current institution. A limit of six nominations per school is set. For lacrosse players, nominees must have competed in 90 percent of the team's total games played or have started 66 percent of the team's total games. In golf, nominees must have competed in 70 percent of the team's total events, which were team-scoring events. For wrestling, eligible nominees must be in the lineup for at least 70 percent of team scoring events (open tournaments, duals) or compete in their weight class at a conference championship meet.
Leonard graduated with a 3.55 cumulative GPA, studying professional accounting. Boyle holds a 3.80 in professional accounting, while Lussier (professional accounting) has a 3.70. Royals currently has a 3.90 GPA in business administration, and Fee has a 3.66 in the same major.
The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes Women's At-Large honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Select Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on July 8.
