Wyatt Martin Receives SUNYAC Men’s Lacrosse Elite 20 Award

ONEONTA, N.Y. -- The State University of New York Athletic Conference announced that Oneonta men's lacrosse junior Wyatt Martin (Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Saratoga Springs) is the 2026 SUNYAC Elite 20 Award winner for men's lacrosse. Following the conclusion of the conference's men's lacrosse championship, the league accidentally awarded the Elite 20 award to an ineligible athlete, and later realized that Martin was the official winner.

The SUNYAC Elite 20, an award modeled after the NCAA ELITE 90 program, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the conference championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers.

Martin, who is majoring in Biology with 3.89 GPA, was inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society this year while he played in four games for the team as a midfielder. The Saratoga Springs, N.Y. native collected four ground balls while causing two turnovers. He caused one turnover in the final two games of the regular season against Plattsburgh and Canton. The Red Dragons finished this year 10-8 overall and advanced to the SUNYAC Championship for the second straight season.

Martin was one of four Oneonta athletes in the 2025-26 season to be awarded the honor. He joined field hockey junior Abigail Draper, men's soccer senior Dillon Kelly, and softball sophomore Millie Reed as the group of Red Dragon SUNYAC Elite 20 winners.
