The SUNY Oneonta men's basketball team moved into second place in the SUNYAC today with its 63-61 overtime win against Fredonia on the road. The Red Dragons have won six straight games to raise its overall record to 18-5 and 11-5 in the conference. Oneonta has two games remaining in the regular season including one on Tuesday against rival Cortland, who is a half game behind with a record of 10-5 in the SUNYAC. Tuesday's game will go a long way to determining the regular season champion and top seed for the upcoming conference tournament, which begins a week from Tuesday.
The heroes in today's game were a pair of juniors as #
Troy Talbot (Brooklyn/The School for Legal Studies)# and #
Derek Hahn (Youngsville/Sullivan West)# combined for 27 points of the bench. Talbot scored the game-tying and the game-winning basket for the Red Dragons in overtime. Hahn hit of 7-of-9 shots and grabbed six rebounds in 22 minutes of play.

Brian Hooks (Cohoes/Shaker)# hit a three-pointer with 25 seconds left to give the Red Dragons a 58-56 lead.
Fredonia (9-12/7-8) forced the extra period on a game-tying basket by Julius Bryant with three seconds to go.
Bryant hit 1-of-2 free throws to start the overtime. Joe Monahan then hit a jumper to give the Blue Devils a three-point cushion at 61-58 with just under two minutes.

Kevin Walsh (Middletown/Minisink Valley)# cut the lead to two points and then back-to-back turnovers by Fredonia gave Talbot his two opportunities, which he converted for Oneonta.
