ONEONTA,NY- The men's swimming & diving team set out to improve from last years dual-meet versus SUNY Oswego. Today was a complete turn-around for the Red Dragons as they defeated the Lakers 153-86. This is Coach Chris Schuler-Ghiorse's first time defeating Oswego in her 14 years as the Red Dragon's coach.

They started off the day with a win in the 200-yard medley relay and never looked back. The men went on to win 11 out of 13 events on the day including freshman Ryan Walsh's (Wingdale) victory in the 100-meter butterfly with a time of 53.79. Walsh broke a school record, which has held since 1974.

Earlier in the day he had wins in both the 200-yard freestyle and the 200-yard IM scoring a total 27 points for the team.

Sophomore standout Alex Miller (Oneonta) was back to top form defeating the field in the 1000-yard freestyle, the 100-yard backstroke, and the 500-yard freestyle.

The Diving of freshman Jermaine Miller (Elmira) added to the teams score by winning both sessions of diving scoring a total of 18 points.

The team will be travelling to face New Paltz in a dual-meet on November 5th starting at 4:00pm
