     SUNY Oneonta senior #Brian Beckford (Brooklyn/Christ the King)# scored 17 points including 11 in the second half as the Red Dragons disposed of Fredonia 68-55 in SUNYAC men's action tonight. The win pushes Oneonta's overall record to 11-2 while moving to 4-2 in the conference. The loss for the Blue Devils drops them to 5-5 overall and 3-1 in the SUNYAC.
     An 18-1 run midway through the second half gave Oneonta the cushion they needed to secure the home victory. Junior #Brian Hooks (Cohoes/Shaker)#hit two big threes during the run and finished the game with 12 points eight of which came in the second half.
     Seniors #Kevin Walsh (Middletown/Minisink Valley)# and #Michael Grimes (Albany/Catholic Central)# each scored 10 points for the Red Dragons. Grimes also added a game high 10 rebounds as Oneonta held a 38-30 advantage on the boards.
     Senior Brad Cooper (Monticello/Monticello) led Fredonia tonight with 14 points.
     Oneonta jumped out to an early 6-2 lead before Fredonia came back to tie the score at six apiece at the 15:44 mark. The score remained close until a 5-0 spurt put the Blue Devils ahead 25-17 with 7:29 remaining in the opening half.
     The Red Dragons stormed back to close the half with an 18-4 run to take a 35-29 lead into the break. Grimes scored all 10 of his points in the first half to lead all scorers.
     Oneonta will host Buffalo State tomorrow afternoon at 4:00 p.m. for a SUNYAC contest.
