     Senior #Michael Grimes (Albany/Catholic Central)# led three players in double figures with a season high 25 points as SUNY Oneonta defeated SUNY Potsdam in the SUNYAC opener for both squads. With the win the Red Dragons remain undefeated through its first four games of 2009-10.
     Oneonta came out hot in tonight's contest hitting 18-of-29 in the first half for a shooting percentage of 63. Grimes finished the contest hitting 11-of-12 shots from the floor including 3-of-3 from behind the arc.
     Oneonta also shared the ball tonight totaling 23 assists including a game high six assists from senior #Brian Beckford (Brooklyn/Christ the King)#. Beckford also scored 12 points and grabbed a-team-high-seven boards.
Oneonta held an 11-8 lead at the 13:27 mark before opening up a 12-point lead in the next four minutes.  Both Grimes and Beckford score four points each during that time. The Red Dragons carried a 41-21 lead into the locker room.
     In the second half Oneonta continued to build its lead to as many as 28 points and finished the game shooting 58 percent from the field. Senior #Kevin Walsh (Middletown/Minisink Valley)# was the third player to reach double figures with 14 points.
     Potsdam had three players reach double figures led by sophomore Skip Schwartz (Pittsford/Pittsford Mendon), who scored 14 points.
     Oneonta will be in action again tomorrow when they host Plattsburgh for a SUNYAC game beginning at 4:00 p.m.
