     Seniors #Michael Grimes (Albany/Catholic Central)# and #Brian Beckford (Brooklyn/Christ the King)# each recorded a double double to lead SUNY Oneonta to an easy 66-52 non conference win today against Utica College. Grimes finished the contest with 21 points and 10 rebounds while Beckford recorded 10 points and a game high 11 rebounds. Beckford also added three assists, four steals and two blocks.
     Grimes led the way in the opening half scoring 15 points in the first 20 minutes of play. The Red Dragons shot 42 percent from the field in the first half including 6-of-10 from behind the arc. Oneonta (6-1) took the lead for good at 9-7 on a layup by Grimes with 16:03 remaining in the first half. The Red Dragons built themselves a comfortable halftime cushion at 37-23.
     The second half was much of the same, as Utica (4-4) didn't get any closer than 12 points. The Pioneers had a pair reach double figures this afternoon as junior James Patterson (Poughkeepsie/Poughkeepsie) scored a team high 18 points and senior Patrick Goodman (Marcy/Whitesboro) added 12 points.
     Oneonta's next action will be in Orlando, Fla. at the ECAC Holiday Classic at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex. They will play two games while they're against SUNYIT on Dec. 21 and Wheaton College of Massachusetts on Dec. 22. Both games will start at 10:00 a.m.
