ONEONTA, N.Y. -- After a dominant start to conference play, Oneonta women's tennis senior Haley Peck (West Point, N.Y./James I. O'Neil) received the Spry SUNYAC Women's Tennis Singles Athlete of the Week award for the week of September 14-20, as announced by the conference Monday afternoon. Peck led Oneonta to a 3-0 week, which included two SUNYAC wins, with three straight-set victories, including a walk-off conference clinching win on the top singles court.

The Red Dragons captain started off the week with a commanding 6-1, 6-0 victory in her match against Sage's Annabella Putnam, as Oneonta won the match, 7-0. In their 7-0 SUNYAC opening shutout over Delhi, Peck handled Abigail Arnold for another 6-1, 6-0 win. The Oneonta senior capped off the week with a walk-off victory that gave Oneonta a 4-3 conference road win at Cortland. With the match tied at three, Peck was on the last court against Christina Massoni. She outlasted Massoni in a first set tiebreaker, then she held off her opponent from forcing another tiebreak in the second set and won the match, 7-6 (7-4), 7-5.

Peck is currently 5-1 overall, 2-0 in the SUNYAC, this season in singles play. Every match of hers has been on the No. 1 court. 

Oneonta (6-0, 2-0 SUNYAC) returns to the courts for a SUNYAC match on Friday, September 25, when they host Fredonia at 3 pm at Dr. Heissan '63 Tennis Courts.
