ONEONTA, N.Y. -- For the second consecutive week, Oneonta men's soccer senior James Cintron (Poughkeepsie, NY/Roy C. Ketcham) was named the Spry SUNYAC Men's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week for the week of September 14-20, as announced by the conference Monday afternoon. Cintron manned the net for Oneonta and recorded two clean sheets on the road, totaling three second half saves in the two shutouts to help the team go 2-0 on the week.

The Red Dragon keeper started off with two saves in the 45th and 65th minute to keep the Battle of the Hills against Hartwick scoreless, then Oneonta netted the game-winner in the 79th for a 1-0 win. In another road test against RPI, Cintron made a clutch stop in the 84th minute that eventually led to Oneonta's penalty kick attempt in the 85th, where the Red Dragons scored for the 1-0 victory.

Cintron has started all six games for the Red Dragons this season and has recorded 15 saves for a .938 save percentage and 0.19 goals against average. So far, he has totaled three shutouts and one combined shutout.

Oneonta (5-0-1) is back on the pitch on Tuesday, September 22, for a road match against Skidmore at 6 pm.
