STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - The Oneonta women's track & field team sent a squad to the Ocean Breeze Invitational on Friday in a meet that featured a field of Division I, II, and III competitors. Events were split into "invitational" and "college."

In the 60-meter hurdles invitational, sophomore Jaiden Schrag (New Berlin, NY/Unadilla Valley Central) placed 13th and was the top Division III finisher at 9.45. Junior Nicolette DuBose (Levittown, NY/Island Trees) took tenth in the 60-meter dash at 8.00.

Freshman Olivia Nicholls (Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman) placed eighth in the "college" 60-meter dash at 8.11. Junior Gianna Russo-Sanchez (East Islip, NY/East Islip) took 15th at 8.26. Nicholls continued with a 14th-place finish in the 200-meter at 26.24

Junior Gia Engel (Syosset, NY/Syosset) crushed her personal record in the 5,000-meter at 18:15.01 for third place. Junior Anya Sloth (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta Senior) was eighth at 19:06.94, while freshman Jill Cinquina (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas) placed ninth at 19:11.67.

Sophomore Natalia Sweat (Newburgh, NY/Newburgh) posted a personal best of 508.43 to finish 20th in the mile.

In the shot put, senior Tarryn Herman (Franklinville, NY/Franklinville) placed third overall at 12.91 meters. Sophomore Mackenzie Lawrence (Berne, NY/Berne-Knox) was 16th at 11.00 meters. Herman went on to finish ninth in the weight throw at 14.58 meters, while Lawrence placed 14th at 13.30 meters.

Oneonta next has athletes compete at the Utica Pioneer Invite on Saturday, February 7, at 11 a.m.
