Borowiec added to the Red Dragons lead as he defeated Ben Burkhardt in a 19-3 tech fall in 6:14. The Oneonta 133-pounder shot for Burkhardt's foot for his first takedown 20 seconds into the match, then he scored his second on an outside foot sweep and added a four-point nearfall with a minute to go in the opening period. Borowiec recorded another two takedowns in the second period before he tallied his fifth in the third period to pick up the tech fall.
Strouse maintained Oneonta's lead with a 17-2 tech fall in 2:48 over Oswego's Donovan Rail. Both wrestlers were looking for a takedown early when the Red Dragon 149-pounder slipped behind the Laker and recorded a takedown with a four-point nearfall 40 seconds into the match. After they reset, Strouse continued to control Rail and he scored another four-point nearfall before Rail escaped. With a minute left in the first period, the Oneonta freshman got behind his Oswego opponent and wrapped his arms around his waist for a second takedown. In the final 20 seconds, Strouse dropped down and grabbed Rail's foot for his third takedown and the tech.
Monica, who is ranked sixth at 165 pounds in Region 2, increased the team's lead to 18-9Â with a 16-1 tech fall in 7:00 against David Hammerle. The Red Dragon sophomore got on the board with a takedown 25 seconds into the contest and later got an armbar on Hammerle and turned him for a four-point nearfall before the first period ended. He started the second period with a reversal, then ended it with a takedown by getting Hammerle into a fireman's carry and flipping him on his back to take a 12-1 lead. In the final 20 seconds, Monica earned his third takedown after he kept control of his opponent's arm and went in for the single leg takedown, then he gained the riding time bonus for the tech.
The Lakers took a 20-18 lead with a fall and tech fall at 174 and 184, before the Red Dragons clinched the dual with two major decisions from LiCastri and Jackson at 197 and 285, respectively.
LiCastri, the second ranked 197-pounder in Region 2, beat Kevin Arriaza in a 10-2 major decision. He scored his first takedown 30 seconds into the contest with a single leg attempt, then LiCastri recorded another single leg takedown in the final moments of the opening period to take a 6-1 lead. After gaining two minutes of riding time in the second period, the Red Dragon senior had control of Arriaza's arms and snapped him down to the mat for his third takedown with 1:40 remaining. Arriaza later escaped, but LiCastri earned the riding bonus for the major and gave Oneonta a 22-18 lead.
Jackson, the sixth ranked 285-pounder in Region 2, clinched Oneonta's victory with a 10-2 major decision against Dustin Koskinen-Falls, who is ranked seventh in Region 2. He got his Oswego opponent off-balanced for a single leg takedown 15 seconds into the round, then he gained his second takedown on another single leg attempt with 15 seconds left in the opening period for a 6-1 lead. After riding out most of the second and third periods, Jackson had Koskinen-Falls in a cradle for a split second however he could not get any nearfall points out of it and the Laker escaped shortly after. With 15 seconds remaining, Koskinen-Falls made one last-ditch attempt to score a takedown, but Jackson was able to defend it then he spun himself around Koskinen-Falls to record one more takedown and pick up the major.
