Red Dragons Set Multiple Personal Bests at Cornell Marc Deneault Invitational

ITHACA, N.Y. - The Oneonta women's track & field team had a strong showing at the Cornell Marc Deneault Invitational, with the Red Dragons grabbing multiple personal bests on the day.

Sophomore Jaiden Schrag (New Berlin, NY/Unadilla Valley Central) was one of two Division III runners to reach the 60-meter hurdle finals after running a 9.05 in the prelims for seventh. She placed eighth in the finals with a personal best of 8.98.

In the 60-meter dash, freshman Olivia Nicholls (Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman) ran a personal best and AARTFC qualifying time of 8.01 for 12th place.

Junior Anya Sloth (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta Senior) led Oneonta in the mile with a personal record of 5:24.55 to cross 14th overall. Junior Olivia posted a personal best of 5:31.47 to finish 17th, and junior Gia Engel (Syosset, NY/Syosset) had a personal best of 5:32.47 for 18th overall.

Nicholls continued with an AARTFC qualifying time and personal record of 25.93 to place fourth, while freshman Gracie Gorrell (Columbus, NY/Unadilla Valley Central) also had a regional qualifier and personal best of 25.98 for sixth. Schrag ran a personal best of 26.45 to cross 11th overall.

Sophomore Anna Kern (Central Valley, NY/Monroe-Woodbury) took ninth in the 3,000 at 11:09.90, and sophomore Sophia Allen (Scotia, NY/Scotia Glenville) was tenth at 11:33.97. In the 800, freshman Kaitlynn Slobodin (East Meadow, NY/East Meadow) had a personal best of 2:33.57 for 17th, and senior Keyla Mendoza (Freeport, NY/Freeport) grabbed a personal record of 2:34.39 for 20th.

Senior Tarryn Herman (Franklinville, NY/Franklinville) posted a regional qualifier mark of 15.14 meters in the weight throw to place seventh. She placed seventh in the shot put at 12.60 meters.

In the pole vault, sophomore Ashley LaReddola (Coram, NY/Longwood) had a personal best of 3.07 meters for 13th place.

Junior Eko Dodd-Brown (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) went 5.07 meters in the long jump for ninth place, while junior Carly Hein (Endwell, NY/Maine Endwell) was 11th at 5.02 meters. Junior Melinda Reid (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) cleared a personal record of 1.52 meters in the high jump to finish seventh overall.

Oneonta next competes at the SUNYAC Indoor Championships on February 27.
