SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- The Oneonta men's tennis team was tripped up in their road match against Skidmore, 7-0, Friday afternoon. The result brought the Red Dragons to an overall record of 5-4 and the Thoroughbreds to 1-0 this season.Â
Skidmore took all three doubles matches for the doubles match point. Sophomores
Jaden Ritterman (White Plains, N.Y./White Plains) and
Peter Pitaleff (Garrison, N.Y./Highland Falls Fort Montgomery) battled on court two, but Kyle Lundberg and Yuval Goodman took the match, 6-4. Senior
William Schmid (Yonkers/Salesian HS) and junior
Chris Chippari (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Roy C. Ketcham) came up short to Nika Mori and Fletcher King on the No. 1 court, 6-2, while junior
Seth Cheung (Somers, N.Y./Somers) and sophomore
Ryan Geller (Cornwall-on-Hudson, N.Y./Cornwall) were defeated by Radin Sadeghi and Mahen Bitkuri on court three, 6-0.

In singles play, Schmid kept it close with Lundberg in both sets on court two, but the Thoroughbred earned the match in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4. Chippari and Pitaleff were both bested on courts one and four, respectively, 6-1, 6-2, and Ritterman fell on court three to King, 6-2, 6-1. Geller dropped to Sadeghi on court five, 6-3, 6-0, and freshman
Amine Abidi () stumbled against Bitkuri in straight 6-0 sets on court six.
