ITHACA, N.Y. - The Oneonta women's track & field team had four top-three finishes after the first day of the Ithaca Bomber Invitational on Saturday. Sunday continues with the pentathlon starting at 10:15 a.m.
Senior Tarryn Herman (Franklinville, NY/Franklinville) set a huge personal best of 13.12 meters to place second in the shot put. The mark currently ranks 17th in NCAA Division III. Sophomore Mackenzie Lawrence (Berne, NY/Berne-Knox) placed fourth at an AARTFC qualifying throw of 12.32 meters. Herman continued with an 11th-place finish in the weight throw at 14.39 meters, while Lawrence took 14th at 13.64 meters.
In the triple jump, sophomore Jaiden Schrag (New Berlin, NY/Unadilla Valley Central) hit 10.50 meters for eighth place. Junior Nicolette DuBose (Levittown, NY/Island Trees) was 14th at 10.16 meters. Sophomore Ashley LaReddola (Coram, NY/Longwood) recorded a personal best of 9.90 meters for 18th overall.
Schrag placed third in the 60-meter hurdle prelims at 9.34. She then finished third in the finals at 9.29. In the long jump, Schrag earned a personal best of 5.37 meters to finish third.
DuBose reached the 60-meter finals after running an 8.07 in the prelims for sixth. She took fifth in the finals with a time of 7.99.
Freshman Gracie Gorrell (Columbus, NY/Unadilla Valley Central) ran a 1:02.79 to take tenth in the 400-meter.
Sophomore Natalia Sweat (Newburgh, NY/Newburgh) won the 800-meter at an AARTFC qualifying time of 2:22.51. In the 200-meter, junior Brianna Senatore (/) ran a 27.27 for sixth overall. Sophomore Kristanna Samascott (/) took 15th at 27.80.
Sophomore Anna Kern (Central Valley, NY/Monroe-Woodbury) ran a personal best of 11:09.36 to cross ninth in the 3,000-meter. Sophomore Sophia Allen (Scotia, NY/Scotia Glenville) placed 16th at 11:39.44.
Oneonta's 4x400 relay of Scharg, Senatore, Sweat, and Gorrell finished fifth at 4:11.17.
The Bomber Invitational continues with the pentathlon events on Sunday, February 1 at 10:15 a.m.
