Iyare Harris Earns Second Spry SUNYAC Offensive Athlete of the Week Honor

ONEONTA, N.Y. -- Oneonta men's soccer graduate student Iyare Harris (Kingston, NY/Kingston) was named the Spry SUNYAC Men's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week for the week of October 19-25, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. It is the second time this season that Harris has received the weekly recognition.

The Red Dragon graduate student finished the week with three goals, including a game-winner, and an assist for seven points to help Oneonta earn two SUNYAC wins in the final week of the regular season. Harris started the week with a goal off a penalty kick in Oneonta's 4-0 win at Delhi. He then recorded the game-winner and totaled two goals with an assist in the team's 4-1 win over Alfred State.

Harris has scored a goal in the past five games, totaling seven during the stretch, and has recorded at least one point in eight of the last nine matches. He is currently tied for second in the SUNYAC with nine goals and tied for third with 24 points as he leads the team in both categories.

The Red Dragons (12-1-2) clinched the three seed in the SUNYAC tournament and received a first-round bye. Oneonta will host the winner of Potsdam and Delhi in the second-round match on Saturday, October 31 at Red Dragon Field at either 11 am or 2 pm. The time will officially be decided following the conclusion of the conference's first round games on Wednesday.
