ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Oneonta women's track & field team concluded action at the RIT Friday Meet, with the Red Dragons recording multiple personal bests.
Sophomore Ashley LaReddola (Coram, NY/Longwood) started the day with a personal record of 3.02 meters to place 15th in the pole vault.
In the 60-meter prelims, sophomore Jaiden Schrag (New Berlin, NY/Unadilla Valley Central) took second at 9.27. She then placed third in the finals at 9.17. Senior Ashlee Sphabmixay (Johnson City, NY/Johnson City) took 13th in the prelims at 10.25. Freshman Alana Westerling (Amsterdam, NY/Broadalbin-Perth) ran a personal best of 10.49 for 15th, while junior Jacey Hinds (Blossvale, NY/Camden Senior) had a personal record of 10.51 for 16th.
Oneonta had two throwers in the top ten of the shot put. Senior Tarryn Herman (Franklinville, NY/Franklinville) and sophomore Mackenzie Lawrence (Berne, NY/Berne-Knox) tied for eighth, and both threw 12.09 meters. Freshman Brianna Cinamon (Oceanside, NY/Oceanside) took 17th at 10.36 meters. Herman went on to throw 14.57 meters in the weight throw for fourth overall. Lawrence took 13th at 13.68 meters.
In the 60-meter dash, freshman Olivia Nicholls (Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman) reached the finals after a prelims time of 8.10 to take fifth. Freshman Gracie Gorrell (Columbus, NY/Unadilla Valley Central) also qualified for the finals at 8.15. She placed seventh in the finals at 8.18.
Sophomore Natalia Sweat (Newburgh, NY/Newburgh) ran a 5:25.24 in the mile for 11th overall, while junior Anya SLoth took 18th at a personal best of 5:30.41. Freshman Jill Cinquina (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas) crossed 25th at 5:35.70. In the 800-meter, freshman Alex Friedel (Irondequoit, NY/Irondequoit) earned 16th at 2:30.
Gorrell went on to finish fourth in the 200-meter at a personal best of 26.53. DuBose took sixth at 27.03, while Schrag crossed tenth at 27.30.
Junior Gia Engel (Syosset, NY/Syosset) finished eighth in the 3,000 at 11:04.93, and Cinquina was ninth at 11:06.21. Sloth placed 11th with an 11:13.51.
Oneonta's 4x200 relay of Nicholls, Schrag, DuBose, and Gorrell earned second at 1:48.34.
Oneonta next competes at the Ithaca Bomber Invitational on Saturday, January 31.
