Oneonta Competes at AARTFC Championships

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA - The Oneonta women's track & field team wrapped up Wednesday afternoon's first day of the AARTFC Championships. The Red Dragons are yet to score, while Rochester ranks first with 36 points.

After the first round of the heptathlon, sophomore Eko Dodd-Brown (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) is 11th overall. Dodd-Brown took fifth in the 100-meter hurdles at 15.78 and was ninth in the shot put at 8.94 meters.

Freshman Jaiden Schrag (New Berlin, NY/Unadilla Valley Central) finished 10th in the 100-meter hurdle prelims at 14.99.

Senior Sabrinna Mena (Holtsville, NY/Sachem East) placed ninth in the 5,000 with a personal best of 18:05.05. Sophomore Anya Sloth (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta Senior) crossed 18th at 18:38.58.

In the 10,000, sophomore Gia Engel (Syosset, NY/Syosset) took 16th at 40.22.11 and junior Olivia Holland (Cobleskill, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) placed 17th at 40:40.02.

Senior Sage Douglass (Pine Plains, NY/Stissing Mountain) threw 34.99 meters in the javelin to place 11th overall. Sophomore Sophia Mitreski (Hawthorne, NJ/Hawthorne) took 21st in the discus at 29.28 meters.

Oneonta continues the AARTFC Championships on Thursday, May 15, at 10 a.m.
