ONEONTA, N.Y. -- The Oneonta men's team were firing from all cylinders and upended SUNY Delhi, 7-0, in their home opening match of the spring season Monday afternoon on the Dr. Heissan '63 Tennis Courts. Nine different Red Dragons recorded a win and four recorded double bagel victories in singles play as the team improved to 7-9 overall and the Broncos dropped to 4-4.
Oneonta swept the doubles matches and only dropped two games combined in their three wins. Sophomore
Seth Cheung (Somers, N.Y./Somers) and freshman
Ryan Geller (Cornwall-on-Hudson, N.Y./Cornwall) picked up their third win as a duo with a 6-0 bagel victory over Nolan Kleinsasser and Gabe Manso on the No. 3 court. The No. 1 duo of junior
William Schmid (Yonkers/Salesian HS) and sophomore
Chris Chippari (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Roy C Ketcham) along with the No. 2 pairing of freshmen
Jaden Ritterman (White Plains, N.Y./White Plains) and
Peter Pitaleff (Garrison, N.Y./Highland Falls Fort Montgomery) both outplayed their opponents for a 6-1 win. Chippari and Schmid jumped up to 8-6 as a team while Pitaleff and Ritterman improved to 7-6 as a duo.

Braden Greenberg (Northport, N.Y./Northport) and freshman
Sean Lippman (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) all dismantled their respective opponents in singles play and recorded 6-0, 6-0 victories. Geller defeated Devin Guerrieri on the No. 1 court to go to 6-7 in singles play. Pitaleff upended Ben Andersen on the No. 2 court to go to 6-8 overall in singles. Greenberg beat Gavin Bonczkowski on the No. 5 court to improve to 4-4 in singles this season, and Lippman's double bagel win over William Egle on the No. 6 court was his first singles victory as a Red Dragon.
Cheung had a close second set against Nicholas Vanhouten on the No. 3 court, but managed to walk away with a 6-2, 7-5 straight set win and moved to 3-2 in singles play this season. Junior
Nate Inzerillo (Center Moriches/Center Moriches) outplayed Kleinsasser on the No. 4 court in straight sets for a 6-2, 6-1 victory and is now 3-5 in singles matches.
The Red Dragons head to Ewing, NJ for a conference tri-match on Saturday, April 19. Oneonta will face the host, TCNJ, at 10 am, then they will play Rutgers-Camden at 1 pm.
