ASHLAND, VA. -- The Oneonta men's tennis team started their spring break with a 6-1 win against Randolph-Macon, Monday afternoon. Junior

Chris Chippari (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Roy C Ketcham), and freshman
Jaden Ritterman (White Plains, N.Y./White Plains) all won their respective doubles and singles matches to go 2-0 on the day. The Red Dragons improved to 5-3 this season and the Yellowjackets dropped to 2-7 overall.
Oneonta won all three doubles matches to secure the doubles point. The No. 1 duo of Schmid and Chippari defeated Drew Crotts and Karsten Palmer, 6-1, while Ritterman paired up with freshman
Peter Pitaleff (Garrison, N.Y./Highland Falls Fort Montgomery) on the No. 2 court and beat Evan Holzmacher and Winston Chapman, 6-2. Junior
Braden Greenberg (Northport, N.Y./Northport) and freshman
Ryan Geller (Cornwall-on-Hudson, N.Y./Cornwall) recorded the team's sweep with a 6-4 win over Luis Geyne and Jett Hales on the No. 3 court.
The Red Dragons ended the match with five victories in singles play. Chippari outpaced Crotts on the No. 1 court, 6-0, 6-3, while Schmid secured the No. 2 court when Palmer retired due to injury. Ritterman beat Holzmacher on the No. 3 court, 6-2, 6-0, junior
Nate Inzerillo (Center Moriches/Center Moriches) bested Geyne on court No. 5, 6-4, 6-2, and sophomore
Seth Cheung (Somers, N.Y./Somers) bageled Hales in the first set of his win on the No. 6 court, 6-0, 6-1.
Oneonta is back in action on Wednesday, March 12, when they face Pfeiffer University in Hilton Head, South Carolina at 2 pm.
