UTICA, N.Y. - The Oneonta women's track & field team had its final meet before the SUNAYC Championships in Saturday's Utica Fast Trax Invite.
The track events started with the 5,000-meter race, where freshman Abbie Battle (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa/Clifton Park) ran a 21:46.48 for fifth overall.
Freshman Jaiden Schrag (New Berlin, NY/Unadilla Valley Central) ran a 9.36 in the 60-meter hurdle prelims to reach the finals, while sophomore Eko Dodd-Brown (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) qualified for the finals at 9.64. Schrag placed second at a personal record 9.10, while Dodd-Brown ran a personal best of 9.62 for fourth overall.
Oneonta had three runners reach the 60-meter dash finals. Senior Danielle ran a personal record of 8.15 in the prelims, while sophomore Nicolette DuBose (Levittown, NY/Island Trees) crossed at 8.18. Sophomore Brianna Senatore (/) ran an 8.32. In the finals, DuBose had a personal record of 8.09 to place second, while Jackson took third at 8.12. Senatore finished sixth at 8.36.
Freshman Anna Kern (Central Valley, NY/Monroe-Woodbury) earned fourth in the mile, with a personal best of 5:36.28. Freshman Sophia Allen (Scotia, NY/Scotia Glenville) placed ninth with her career-best time of 5:51.77.
In the 300-meter race, Jackson took second overall at a personal record of 42.55. Senior Sage Douglass (Pine Plains, NY/Stissing Mountain) crossed tenth at 45.19.
Sophomore Keyla Mendoza (Freeport, NY/Freeport) ran a 2:36.93 to take seventh in the 800-meter race.
Jackson led Oneonta in the 200-meter dash at 26.92 to place sixth. DuBose grabbed seventh at 27.05.
Freshman Ashley LaReddola (Coram, NY/Longwood) cleared a personal best of 3.01 meters to win the pole vault. Schrag took fourth in the long jump at 5.08 meters and was third in the triple jump at 10.83 meters. DuBose was fifth at 10.49 meters.
In the weight throw, junior Tarryn Herman (Franklinville, NY/Franklinville) took second at 14.76 meters. Junior Gabi Ragozzine (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) finished third at 14.00 meters. Freshman Wealthy Robinson (Utica, NY/Thomas R. Proctor) placed seventh with a throw of 12.93 meters.
Oneonta had five throwers in the top eight of the shot put. Herman placed second (11.51 meters), and freshman Mackenzie Lawerence was third at 11.35 meters. Robinson took fifth (11.00 meters), and Ragozzine grabbed sixth )10.95 meters). Sophomore Sophia Mitreski finished eighth at 10.32 meters.
Oneonta next competes at the SUNYAC Indoor Championships on Fri. Feb. 28.
