WILLIAMSTOWN, MA. -- The No. 8 Oneonta wrestling team dropped three matches at the Williams College quad meet on Saturday. The Red Dragons were bested by No. 19 Ithaca, 34-16, No. 25 Williams, 43-9, and No. 23 Wesleyan, 49-3. Senior Carson LiCastri (Easton, CT/Joel Barlow High School) finished the day 3-0 at 197 lbs., and junior Avery Leonard (Milford, N.Y./Milford Central) went 2-0 at 149 lbs. The results moved Oneonta to 15-5 overall in duals this season.

Ithaca 34, Oneonta 16
Leonard, who is ranked second at 149 in region 2, defeated the Bombers fourth ranked region 2 wrestler, Wechard Pierre-Louis, in a 14-4 major decision. LiCastri, ranked fourth in region 2 at 197, pinned Eamon Callaghan in 1:21. Junior Kennith Jackson (New Orleans, LA/), ranked seventh in region 2 at 285 lbs., recorded a 5:45 fall over Charlie Turner, who is ranked eighth in region 2.

Williams 43, Oneonta 9
Leonard beat Williams' Caleb Seyfield in a 17-8 major decision. Seyfield is ranked fifth in region 1 at 149 lbs. LiCastri defeated Zach Borzio in an 18-3 tech fall.

Wesleyan 49, Oneonta 3
LiCastri was the only Red Dragon to win his respective match against Wesleyan. He won an 8-5 decision over Aris Dashiell, the fourth ranked wrestler at 197 in region 1.

The Red Dragons are back in action on Saturday, February 15, against RIT and Lackawanna College starting at 11 am.
