Oneonta Stands Second After Day One of Snow Flurries Invitational

CORTLAND, N.Y.- The Oneonta women's swimming & diving team stands second out of four teams after the first day of the Cortland Snow Flurries Invitational on Friday evening. Cortland is first with 412 points, while Oneonta has 213.

The Red Dragons opened the day by taking fourth in the 200-yard medley relay. Juniors Alexandria Bard (Duanesburg, NY/Duanesburg), Alaska Lilliock (Malone, NY/Franklin Academy), freshmen Sydney Richards (Rochester, NY), and Krista Broussard (Chesterfield, VA/Thomas Dale) swam a 2:05.95.

In the 500-yard freestyle, freshman Mary Bush (Binghamton, NY) took sixth at 6:04.16, while senior Alyssa Thompson (Montgomery, NY/Valley Central) placed eighth at 6:23.19. Junior Ashley Brousseau (Peru, NY/Peru Central) swam a 6:24.11 for ninth place.

In the 200-yard IM, Richards placed eighth at 2:29.38.

Senior Alli LaBarbera (Lynbrook, NY/Lynbrook) led Oneonta with a fourth-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (26.69). Lilliock was eighth at 27.78.

The Red Dragons placed third in the 800-yard freestyle relay with Richards, Lilliock, Bard, and Bush swimming a 9:08.01.

Senior Macayla Hodkinson (Bethpage, NY/Bethpage) placed fourth in the three-meter dive with 333.38 points.

Oneonta continues the Snow Flurries Invitational on Saturday with sessions at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
