Red Dragons Finish Third at Electric City Invitaitonal

SCRANTON, PA - The Oneonta women's swimming & diving team finished tied for third after the final day of the Electric City Invitational hosted by Marywood on Sunday afternoon. The Red Dragons scored 459 points to tie Wilkes, while Division II Lock Haven won the meet with 840 points.

Sunday's first event was the 200-yard backstroke, where freshman Madeleine Cantwell (Buffalo, NY/Amherst Central) placed seventh overall at 2:26.51. Senior Alyssa Thompson (Montgomery, NY/Valley Central) swam a 2:45.09 to place 11th. In the 100-yard freestyle, senior Alli LaBarbera (Lynbrook, NY/Lynbrook) touched third at 57.64, while junior Alaska Lilliock (Malone, NY/Franklin Academy) earned eighth at 1:01.30. Freshman Krista Broussard (Chesterfield, VA/Thomas Dale) placed 13th at 1:03.82.

Freshman Sydney Richards (Rochester, NY) grabbed eighth in the 200-yard breaststroke at 2:52.60. In the 200-yard butterfly, freshman Mary Bush (Binghamton, NY) posted a 2:42.44 for fourth place.

The meet concluded with the 400-yard freestyle relay, where Richards, Bush, Lilliock, and LaBarbera finished fifth overall at 3:58.76.

Oneonta competes in its final meet of the semester at the Cortland Snowflurries Invitational from December 5-6.
