Oneonta Returns to Action at Cortland

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The Oneonta women's swimming & diving team returned to competition with a dual meet against Cortland on Friday afternoon. Oneonta fell 158-74 to Cortland.

In the 1,000-yard freestyle, senior Alyssa Thompson (Montgomery, NY/Valley Central) swam 12:44.51 to place fourth overall. Senior Callie Stinson (Alexandria, VA/West Potomac) took third in the 200-yard freestyle at 2:14.74.

Junior Allison LaBarbera (Lynbrook, NY/Lynbrook) touched second in the 50-yard freestyle with a 26.00, while sophomore Alaska Lilliock (Malone, NY/Franklin Academy) was fourth at 27.18.

Freshman Alexis Gibson (Schenectady, NY/Schenectady) won the 200-yard IM at 2:17.87, and senior Anna McCall (Ligonier, PA/Ligonier Valley) took fifth at 2:37.27. Gibson continued with a fourth-place performance in the 100-yard freestyle at 1:00.74.

Sophomore Alexandria Bard (Schenectady, NY/Duanesburg) placed third in the 200-yard backstroke with a 2:26.31.

McCall claimed first on the 200-yard breaststroke at 2:48.79, while sophomore Veronica Coe (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) placed second at 3:10.98. Sophomore Raina Willie (Stony Brook, NY/Ward Melville Senior) finished third at 3:11.84.

Oneonta's 400-yard freestyle relay finished first. Bard, Gibson, LaBarbera, and senior Lena Nakken (Islip, NY/Islip) swam a 3:57.50.

Junior Macayla Hodkinson (Bethpage, NY/Bethpage) scored 196.60 points in the one-meter dive to finish second overall. She was fourth in the three-meter dive with 154.30 points.

Oneonta next competes at the Ithaca Dick Comanzo Diving Invitational on Sun. Jan. 26.
