CORTLAND, N.Y. - The Oneonta women's track & field team concluded the first day of the Cortland Classic on Friday afternoon.
Junior Danielle Jackson (Bronx, NY/Central Park East) placed ninth in the 100-meter prelims at 13.14, and sophomore Maggie Petty (Highland, NY/Highland) was 12th at 13.22.
In the 1,500-meter, senior Sierra Basco (Albany, NY/Shaker) ran a 5:02.06 to finish sixth overall. Senior Ejim Nnate (Port Jefferson Station, NY/Comsewogue) won the 100-meter hurdle prelims at 14.49, while freshman Eko Dodd-Brown (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) qualified for the finals at 16.35 for fourth.
Sophomore Olivia Holland (Cobleskill, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) crossed ninth in the 5,000-meter race at 19:52.66.
Oneonta's 4x400 relay of Keyla Mendoza (Freeport, NY/Freeport), Natalie Deso (Castleton-on-Hudson, NY/Maple Hill Jr/Sr), Olivia Komacek (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro), and Noelle Mastraccio (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) was second at 4:48.00.
In the 10,000-meter race, freshman Gia Engel (Syosset, NY/Syosset) took fourth overall after running a 40:48.50.
Junior Sage Douglass (Pine Plains, NY/Stissing Mountain) grabbed third in the javelin after throwing 31.91 meters, while sophomore Tarryn Herman (Franklinville, NY/Franklinville) was seventh at 26.57 meters.
Senior Isabella Fabrizio (Highland Mills, NY/Cornwall) was the highest Division III finisher in the weight throw and threw 46.80 meters for third place. Sophomore Gabi Ragozzine (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) earned ninth at 42.29 meters.
