ITHACA, N.Y. -- The SUNY Oneonta wrestling team dropped three matches at the Ithaca Quad meet, Saturday afternoon. Sophomore
Carson LiCastri (Redding, CT/Joel Barlow High School) and freshman
Cameron Hinchcliff (Ballston Spa/Ballston Spa) went 3-0 in their respective weight classes, LiCastri recorded two falls at 197 while Hinchcliff had one at 125. The Red Dragons moved to 11-8 in duals after falling to the Bombers, 15-37, Williams, 18-29, and Wesleyan, 20-29.
Hinchcliff started the day with a 2:25 fall over Ithaca's Cosmo Damiani. After winning his match against Williams by forfeit, Hinchcliff defeated Wesleyan's Chris Hong in a 10-3 decision.
LiCastri began the meet with a 4:28 fall over the Bombers Trey Darmody-Latham. He then pinned Ephs' Wyatt Moyer at 3:57 and finished the day with a 14-2 major decision against Cardinals Lennon Soaper.
Junior
Danny Poggi (West Islip/West Islip) and senior
Jhordyn Innocent () picked up a pair of wins. Poggi competed at 133 and won a 7-4 decision over Williams Enzo Bell and a 10-9 decision against Wesleyan's Max Martinez. Innocent recorded a 13-6 decision at heavyweight versus Ephs' Thomas Goodwin before he pinned Cardinals Kolton Gagnon in 33 seconds.
Senior
Kenneth Sauer (Franklin/Franklin) beat Wesleyan's Lucas Hughes in a 11-2 major decision at 174, and senior
Max Yahre (Plainview, N.Y./Plainview JFK) took a 12-6 decision over Ithaca's Joseph Averill at 157.
The Red Dragons are back in action Wednesday, February 10, for a dual at Oswego at 7 pm.
