ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The SUNY Oneonta wrestling team dropped their final dual match of the season at RIT, 33-13, Saturday afternoon. Four Red Dragons won their respective matches as the team closed the season 12-9 in duals while the Tigers improved to 5-1.
Junior
Danny Poggi (West Islip/West Islip), and sophomores
Jack Ryan (Trumbull, CT/) and
Carson LiCastri (Redding, CT/Joel Barlow High School) each picked up a win. Poggi defeated Logan Patterson in a 9-5 decision at 133 lbs. Ryan pinned Elon Martin at 4:16 in the 184 lbs-match and LiCastri beat Nicholas Smith in a 14-3 major decision at 197 lbs. In the exhibition matches, senior
Noah Kennedy (Greene/Greene) recorded a 16-0 tech fall at 6:10 over Michael Patti.
The next tournament the Red Dragons are in is the Mideast Regionals starting March 1 at 10 am.
