BOSTON, MA -Â The Oneonta women's track & field team raced at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Friday. Colleges across Division I, II, and III, as well as professional running groups, all took part in the highly competitive meet.Â
The meet opened with senior Megan Francoeur (New Lebanon, NY/Pittsfield (MA)), who placed 73rd in the 3,000-meter race with a personal record of 10:16.70.Â
Then, in the 60-meter hurdle prelims, senior Ejim Nnate (Port Jefferson Station, NY/Comsewogue) was one spot away from qualifying for the finals after running an 8.93. Nnate was the third highest Division III finished with the finals comprised of five Division I runners.Â
Freshman Nicolette DuBose (Levittown, NY/Island Trees) took 34th in the 60-meter dash at 8.33.
Junior Danielle Jackson (Bronx, NY/Central Park East) ran a personal record of 1:00.08 in the 400-meter race to finish 145th, while senior Taylor Johnson (White Plains, NY/White Plains) crossed at an individual record of 1:03.22 for 188th.
The Red Dragons had four runners in Jackson, Nnate, DuBose, and Johnson race in the 200-meter. Jackson placed 149th at 26.83. Nnate was 152nd (26.85), and DuBose was 153rd (26.86). Johnson finished 206th with a 28.14.
Oneonta finished with junior Sabrinna Mena (Holtsville, NY/Sachem East) and senior Olivia O'Donnell (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) competing in the mile race. Mena ran a personal best of 5:19.13, and O'Donnell crossed at 5:24.88.
Oneonta next has athletes competing at the Utica CNY Valentine Alternative on Sat. Feb. 10.Â
