ONEONTA, N.Y. -- For the fourth straight week, Oneonta wrestling freshman
Jackson Maby (Susquehanna, PA/Susquehanna Community) continued to show dominance on the mat and was awarded the SUNYAC's Wrestling Rookie of the Week, Monday afternoon. Maby went 2-0 with a pair of tech falls and helped the Red Dragons go 2-0 in their home tri-match and improve to 7-0 on the season.
In the team's 27-21 victory against WPI, Maby recorded a 15-0 tech fall in 3:57 over Mason Medina. The 141-pound freshman then scored a 19-3 tech fall in 4:36 versus Utica's Rian Kirker as the Red Dragons defeated the Pioneers, 49-6.
This season in duals, Maby is 7-0 with five tech falls and two pins.
Oneonta is back in action on Saturday, January 11, for the Manganaro Duals at Ursinus College at 10 am.
