Oneonta Competes at RPI

TROY, N.Y. - The Oneonta women's swimming & diving team continued the season with a dual meet at RPI. The Red Dragons fell 170-90 to the Engineers.

Oneonta opened the meet by taking fourth in the 400-yard medley relay. Seniors Callie Stinson (Alexandria, VA/West Potomac), Anna McCall (Ligonier, PA/Ligonier Valley), Lena Nakken (Islip, NY/Islip), and sophomore Alexandria Bard (Schenectady, NY/Duanesburg) swam a 4:40.61.

In the 1,000-yard freestyle, sophomore Ashley Brousseau (Peru, NY/Peru Central) placed third at 13:02.45. Nakken took fifth in the 200-yard freestyle at 2:09.83, while junior Allison LaBarbera (Lynbrook, NY/Lynbrook) took sixth at 2:10.20.

Bard finished second in the 100-yard backstroke with a 1:09.97, while sophomore Alaska Lilliock (Malone, NY/Franklin Academy) swam 1:13.10 to place third. McCall touched fourth at 1:16.33.

Freshman Alexis Gibson (Schenectady, NY/Schenectady) swam a 1:18.55 to take second in the 100-yard breaststroke, and sophomore Raina Willie (Stony Brook, NY/Ward Melville Senior) was third at 1:26.80.

Oneonta had a strong showing in the 50-yard freestyle, with LaBarbera leading the way with a second-place finish at 26.35. Stinson touched third at 27.66, and senior Cadence Dudley (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) was fourth with a 28.76.

LaBarbera took second in the 100-yard freestyle at 58.01, while Bard finished third with a 1:00.45. In the 200-yard backstroke, Lilliock finished second at 2:39.94. Junior Alyssa Thompson (Montgomery, NY/Valley Central) placed third at 2:40.01.

Dudley continued with a second-place performance in the 200-yard breaststroke at 2:57.47. Willie took third with a 3:11.82. Freshman Destiny Duckworth (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) placed second in the 500-yard freestyle at 7:34.49.

In the 100-yard butterfly, Gibson took second at 1:03.51, while McCall was third at 1:09.95.

Oneonta concluded the swimming events with a third-place 400-yard freestyle relay. Bard, Dudley, Nakken, and LaBarbera swam at 3:59.15.

In the three-meter dive, junior Macayla Hodkinson (Bethpage, NY/Bethpage) took second with 198.53 points, while senior Paige Splendido (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna) scored 180.15 for third. Hodkinson took second in the one-meter dive with 195.38 points, and Splendido was third at 169.50 points. Junior Madeline Boyar () was fourth with 163.00 points.

Oneonta next competes at Hartwick on Sat. Nov. 9 against Brockport and the Hawks.
