After an evenly matched start to the game, New Paltz used a shot from Rachel Eisert in the seventh minute to get the offense moving. At 12:54, Treble broke through and fired the ball into the bottom right corner to make it 1-0.
Oneonta failed to muster a response, and New Paltz added another goal in the 21st minute following a corner kick. After the ball bounced around in front of the Red Dragons' net, Eisert slipped the shot in to put the score 2-0.
The Hawks kept the pressure up with three straight shots, which Meehan saved. In the first half's final minutes, Oneonta managed one shot from freshman Natalie Decker (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) that went wide left.
New Paltz did not slow down in the second half, and Treble scored her second goal at 61:51 after scoring one-on-one against Meehan. Oneonta nearly scored in the 88th minute when senior Shannon Lowney (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) launched the ball high toward the Hawks' goal, but Maddie Franklin stuck her hand up to make the save.
New Paltz outshot Oneonta 24-3 and held a 12-4 corner kick advantage. Meehan finished with ten saves, while Franklin had one.
