Red Dragons Compete at Oswego

OSWEGO, N.Y. - The Oneonta women's swimming and diving team competed in its first dual meet on Saturday afternoon, losing 156-81 to Oswego.

The meet consisted of 34 events, beginning with the 200-yard medley relay, in which seniors Cadence Dudley (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta), Anna McCall (Ligonier, PA/Ligonier Valley), Callie Stinson (Alexandria, VA/West Potomac), and sophomore Alexandria Bard (Schenectady, NY/Duanesburg) placed second at 2:05.36.

Senior Lena Nakken (Islip, NY/Islip) placed second overall in the 1,000-yard freestyle at 11:46.83. In the 200-yard freestyle, junior Allison LaBarbera (Lynbrook, NY/Lynbrook) placed third at 2:12.05, and sophomore Ashley Brousseau (Peru, NY/Peru Central) swam a 2:24.38 for fifth overall. Sophomore Alaska Lilliock (Malone, NY/Franklin Academy) touched fourth in the 50-yard freestyle at 28.41.

McCall grabbed third in the 100-yard butterfly at 1:08.99, and Stinson was fourth at 1:09.78. LaBarbera went on to finish third in the 100-yard freestyle at 58.97.

Nakken won the 500-yard freestyle at 5:42.01. Dudley swam a 1:19.98 to take third in the 100-yard breaststroke, while sophomore Raina Willie (Stony Brook, NY/Ward Melville Senior) was fourth at 1:29.13. Oneonta wrapped up by placing second in the 200-yard relay. Stinson, Lilliock, Nakken, and LaBarbera recorded a 1:48.40.

Junior Macayla Hodkinson (Bethpage, NY/Bethpage) scored 184.50 points in the one-meter dive to finish second in the diving events. Senior Paige Splendido (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna) took third with 160.75 points. The Red Dragons swept the three-meter dive, with Hodkinson taking first (180.25), Splendido finishing second (153.35), and junior Madeline Boyar () placing third (134.75).

Oneonta next competes at RPI on Sat. Oct. 26 at 1 p.m.
