COLLEGEVILLE, PA. -- The SUNY Oneonta wrestling team traveled to Ursinus College for the Manganaro Duals and went 2-2 on the day with victories over the United States Merchant Marine Academy and Shippensburg University, Saturday afternoon. The Red Dragons beat the Mariners 28-17 and the Raiders 38-6 to improve to 9-2 on the season. Sophomores

Carson LiCastri (Redding, CT/Joel Barlow High School), and
Jack Ryan (Trumbull, CT/) all recorded three wins, while junior
Danny Poggi (West Islip/West Islip) and senior
Max Yahre (Plainview, N.Y./Plainview JFK) finished the day with two. Â

Freshman
Cameron Hinchcliff (Ballston Spa/Ballston Spa) won a 10-7 decision at 125 and Poggi recorded a 9-5 decision win at 133. After Yahre defeated Austin Manning in a 12-3 major decision at 157, DeForest pinned Matthew Ferrucci at 6:33 in 165 and senior Kenny Sauer pinned Ivan Corral in 4:14 in the 174 lb. match. Ryan and LiCastri each picked up decision wins at 184 and 197, respectively. Â

Alex Isopo (New Hyde Park, NY/Great Neck South High School) won by forfeit at 125, Poggi beat Calvin Lederer at 133 with a 6-3 decision, and senior
Peter Sacco (Vestal/Vestal) recorded a 2:11 fall against Jayden Hammonds at 141. Senior
Anderson Klosner (Ilion/Central Valley Academy) and Yahre each had a major decision victory at 149 and 157, respectively, and DeForest won with a forfeit against Cole Lang in 165 after leading the match 11-4. Ryan pinned Owen Koch in 1:48 at 184 and LiCastri walked away with a 10-5 decision against Trey Shoemaker in the 197 match. Â
Oneonta vs Trinity, 17-31;Â Â Oneonta vs #12 Coast Guard, 0-55
In their dual versus #12 Coast Guard, the Bears won each match. Against Trinity, DeForest defeated Nick Crotty with a 17-0 tech fall in 3:31 at 165, Ryan pinned Marco Bragado in 6:33, and LiCastri won by forfeit. Â
The Red Dragons are back in action Thursday for a tri-match at Gettysburg College as they take on the Bullets and Muhlenberg starting at 4:00 pm.Â
