ONEONTA, N.Y. -Â The Oneonta men's swimming & diving team competed against Cortland in their final regular season home meet, with the 200-freestyle relay breaking the Chase Pool record. Cortland went on to win the meet 130.5-93.5.Â
The day opened with the 200-medley relay, where seniors Ross Caimano (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury), Jon Stanzione, Eli Cohen (Schoharie, NY/East Lake (Fla)), and freshman Cosmo Martinelli (Albany, NY/Albany) took second at 1:43.51.Â
Freshman Andrew Capella (Glenville, NY/Burnt-Hills-Ballston Lake) grabbed second place in the 1,000-freestyle at 10:46.60, and sophomore David Butler (Port Kent, NY/Ausable Valley Central) was fifth at 12:09.79.Â
Stanzione took fourth in the 200-freestyle at 1:55.05, and freshman. Colin Ringwood () earned fifth (1:55.16).Â
Junior Mason DeLisio (Kingston, NY/Kingston) won the 50-freestyle with a time of 21.79, and Caimano was fourth at 23.26. Oneonta took first in the 200-IM with junior James Llewellyn (Great River, NY/East Islip) swimming a 2:01.19.Â
Cohen finished second overall in the 100-butterfly at 56.26. DeLisio then won the 100-freestyle by touching at 48.43. Caimano tied for second at 50.89.Â
Llewellyn won his second event in the 100-backstroke at 54.78. Ringwood grabbed third in the 500-freestyle at 5:25.14.Â
The Red Dragons swept the 100-breaststroke, with freshman Ethan Cairo () winning at 1:05.81. Stanzione was second (1:06.35), and freshman Matthew Cleveland placed third (1:24.00).Â
The 200-freestyle relay of DeLisio, Cohen, senior Daniel Oh (Huntington, NY/Harborfields), and Llewellyn won with a time of 1:28.00.Â
Oneonta wraps up the regular season with a dual meet at New Paltz on Sat. Feb. 3 at 1 p.m.
