Red Dragons Compete at Ithaca Quad Meet

ITHACA, N.Y. - The Oneonta women's track & field continued its season at the Ithaca Quad Meet on Saturday. The Red Dragons had three individuals win their respective events, and Oneonta placed fourth with 27 points.

The meet opened with the 60-meter hurdle prelims, where senior Ejim Nnate (Port Jefferson Station, NY/Comsewogue) took first at 9.03. She went on to win the finals with a program record time of 8.96. Freshman Nicolette DuBose ran an 8.25 in the 60-meter prelims to take sixth and qualify for the finals. She then finished third in the finals with a personal record of 8.10. 

The Red Dragons took the top two in the mile, with senior Megan Francoeur (New Lebanon, NY/Pittsfield (MA)) winning at 5:14.76. Junior Sabrinna Mena (Holtsville, NY/Sachem East) earned second at 5:22.44.

In the 800-meter race, senior Olivia O'Donnell (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) ran a personal best of 2:29.33 to place fourth overall. DuBose finished ninth in the 200-meter with a time of 27.37.

Senior Isabella grabbed a pair of top-five finishes in the throwing events and was first in the shot put at 13.42 meters. She took second in the weight throw with a personal best of 15.36 meters.  

Nnate took second in the long jump at 5.15 meters.

Oneonta next competes at the Boston University John Thomas Terrier Classic on Fri. Jan. 26.
