ONEONTA, N.Y. -- The SUNY Oneonta men's tennis team swept SUNY Delhi, 9-0, in a non-conference match, Friday afternoon. The Red Dragons had five matches where they did not surrender a game as they improved to 5-10 on the season while the Broncos fell to 2-6. Â
Oneonta recorded 8-0 shutouts in all three doubles matches against Delhi. Seniors
Jacob Dornsife (Wilmington, DE/Mt. Pleasant) and
Mason Spottek (Binghamton/Susquehanna Valley) defeated Dominick DeBonis and Ben Anderson on the No. 1 court, senior
August LePique (New York, NY/Columbia) and freshman
William Schmid (Yonkers/Salesian HS) blanked Ryan Fitzpatrick and Moises Saintil on the No. 2 court, and sophomore
Noah Khair (New Delhi, INDIA/National Institute of Open Schooling) and junior
Joshua Mann (East Greenbush/Columbia) beat Naphtali Reguilis and Malachi Ritter on the No. 3 court.
Junior
Yonathan Glattman (Hewlett/Hewlett) and freshman
Braden Greenberg (Northport/Northport) each recorded 6-0, 6-0, double-bagel victories on the No. 5 and No. 6 singles courts, respectively. Glattman defeated Ritter while Greenberg won against Naphtali. Freshman
Nathaniel Inzerrilo (Center Moriches/Center Moriches) defeated Moises in straight 6-1 sets on the No. 4 court.
Dornsife, Schmid, and Mann all won their singles matches 6-1, 6-0. Dornisfe defeated Fitzpatrick on the No. 1 court, Schmid beat DeBonis on the No. 2 court, and Mann won against Anderson on the No. 3 court.
The Red Dragons are back in action Sunday when they travel to face Oswego for a 12 pm start.
