Oneonta Women's Track & Field Compete at Hamilton Invitational

CLINTON, N.Y. - The Oneonta women's track & field team continued the season at the Hamilton College Invitational on Saturday afternoon. There was no team scoring, but the Red Dragons posted some solid early results. 

In her first 3,000-meter steeplechase, junior Emily Rudolph (Stillwater, NY/Webb UFSD) placed second overall in a time of 12:41.69 to start the Red Dragons' day. Oneonta then won the 4x100 relay with Margaret Petty, Danielle Jackson (Bronx, NY/Central Park East), Ejim Nnate (Port Jefferson Station, NY/Comsewogue), and Taylor Johnson (White Plains, NY/White Plains) finishing at 51.22.

Oneonta had two runners in the top three of the 1,500-meter race, with junior Ella DePhillips (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury) running a 5:02.68 for second place. Junior Olivia O'Donnell (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) was third with a time of 5:08.15. 

Nnate qualified for the AARTFC regional meet with a 15.32 in the 100-meter hurdles, which was good for second place. Sophomore Erin Gallagher (North Rockland, NY/North Rockland) ran a 1:07.67 to place seventh in the 400-meter race. In the 100-meter, D. Jackson crossed seventh with a time of 13.07, while Nnate was 11th at 13.26. 

Sophomore Sarah Luby (Patterson, NY/Brewster) ran a personal best of 2:40.57 in the 800-meter to take seventh, while junior Aubrey Soller (Monticello, NY/Monticello) was eighth at 2:41.75. Freshman Olivia Holland (Cobleskill, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) took ninth at 2:42.04. D. Jackson continued with a sixth-place finish in the 200-meter at 26.79. 

Junior Megan Francoeur (New Lebanon, NY/Pittsfield (MA)) posted a regional qualifying time in the 5,000-meter race and won with an 18:27.77.

The 4x400 relay of DePhillips, Taylor Johnson (White Plains, NY/White Plains), O'Donnell, and Eva Woodworth (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) crossed third with a time of 4:25.43. 

In the field events, sophomore Sage Douglass (Pine Plains, NY/Stissing Mountain) placed fifth with a jump of 4.43 meters.

The Oneonta throwers performed well and took four of the top five spots in the shot put. Junior Isabella Fabrizio (Highland Mills, NY/Cornwall) won with a throw of 13.30 meters, and junior Emelene Burek (Cohoes, NY/Shaker) hit a personal record of 12.73 for third place. Sophomore Teghan Garris (Dryden, NY/Dryden) took fourth at 11.11 meters, and junior Kate Bellman (Pompton Plains, NJ/Pequannock Township) finished fifth at 10.95 meters. 

Douglass crushed her personal record in the javelin with a throw of 30.68, which placed her fourth overall. 

Senior Hannah Jackson (Poughquag, NY/Arlington) won the hammer throw at a personal best of 44.81 meters, and senior Christina Groleau (Staten Island/Susan E. Wagner) took second at 41.91. H. Jackson earned a fourth-place finish in the discus, throwing for 31.39 meters. Fabrizio was fifth at 31.19, and Bellman took sixth at 31.16. 

Oneonta next travels to the Cortland Red Dragon Open on Sat. Apr. 8 at 10 a.m.
