SELINSGROVE, PAÂ - The Oneonta track & field team kicked off the outdoor season on Friday afternoon's first day of the Susquehanna Jim Taylor Invitational. The Red Dragons competed in the shot put and weight throw events.Â
The meet began with the men's hammer throw, and senior Miles Moliterni (Pine Bush, NY/Pine Bush) placed third overall out of 33 with a mark of 51.08 meters. Sophomore Marco Alteri placed eighth, throwing a personal record of 43.27 meters. Senior Jason Briscoe (Delmar/Bethlehem Central) was 12th at 41.13 meters.Â
Senior Hannah Jackson (Poughquag, NY/Arlington) hit 43.72 meters on her fifth throw to place third overall out of 44 competitors. Senior Isabella Fabrizio (Highland Mills, NY/Cornwall) hit a personal record mark of 43.00 meters to finish fifth. Freshman Gabi Raggozzine was 11th at 40.08 meters, while junior Christina Groleau (Staten Island/Susan E. Wagner) took 15th at 39.61 meters.
In the shot put, freshman Sawyer Eckberg (Maryland, NY/Laurens-Milford) took 12th out of 36 with a throw of 11.85. Briscoe threw 11.78 for 13th place.Â
Fabrizio placed second overall for the women's team after recording a 12.59. Junior Emelene Burek (Cohoes, NY/Shaker) took tenth at 10.84 meters, while junior Kate Bellman (Pompton Plains, NJ/Pequannock Township) placed 12th after throwing 10.75. Raggozzine was 13th at 10.72 meters.Â
