EDGEWATER, NJ – The SUNY Oneonta men's tennis team shutout Yeshiva University, 9-0, Sunday evening. Seniors August LePique (New York, NY/Columbia) and Mason Spottek (Binghamton/Susquehanna Valley) each won their singles matches in double bagel style, 6-0, 6-0, as the Red Dragons improved to 1-2 on the season and the Maccabees fell to 0-3.  

Sophomore Noah Khair (New Delhi, INDIA/National Institute of Open Schooling) and senior Joshua Mann (East Greenbush/Columbia) started the day off defeating Sion Jacobo and Pinny Balsam, 8-2, on the No. 3 doubles court. LePique teamed up with freshman William Schmid (Yonkers/Salesian HS) on the No. 2 court for an 8-4 win over Harry Radinsky and Mark Adler, while Spottek, paired with senior Jacob Dornsife (Wilmington, DE/Mt. Pleasant), defeated Jon Mayer and Josh Deutsch on the No. 1 court, 8-5.  

In the singles matches, LePique received his 6-0, 6-0 straight set victory on the No. 1 court over Mayer, and Spottek earned his on the No. 2 court against Kobi Ciment. Dornsife defeated Jacobo on the No. 3 court, 6-2, 6-0, while Schmid beat Adler on the No. 4 court, 6-1, 6-3. Mann and Khair each recorded a 6-0 first set victory in their respected matches. Khair defeated Israel Bussu on the No. 5 court following a 6-3, second set, and Mann won his second set 6-2 over Jose Hambra on the No. 6 court.  

The Red Dragons are back in action March 13 against Fairleigh Dickinson University, when they travel to Lake Nona, Fla. for Spring Break.  Read Full Article
