CANTON, N.Y. -- The SUNY Oneonta men's tennis team opened the Spring season with a tough matchup against St. Lawrence, falling to the Saints, 9-0, Saturday afternoon. The Red Dragons are now 0-2 overall while the Saints moved to 2-1.  

Seniors Jacob Dornsife (Wilmington, DE/Mt. Pleasant) and Mason Spottek (Binghamton/Susquehanna Valley) were defeated on the No. 1 doubles court, 8-2, while the other doubles matches finished 8-1.  

Senior August LePique (New York, NY/Columbia) fell to Nathan Turtledove on the No. 1 singles court, 6-2, 6-3. On the No. 2 singles court, Spottek dropped the first set 6-1 to Adam Heilbronner before they battled in the second set, forcing a tiebreaker where Heilbronner won, 7-6 (7-1).  

The Red Dragons are back in action tomorrow against Yeshiva at 5 pm.   Read Full Article
