The Oneonta men's and women's track & field wrapped up a busy Friday by competing at the Boston University Valentine Invitational and RIT Friday Night Meet. The Valentine Invitational features professional runners and college athletes across Division I, II, and III.
Junior
Megan Francoeur (New Lebanon, NY/Pittsfield (MA)) won her heat of the 5,000-meter and placed 27th overall with a personal record time of 17:56.68. In the 60-meter hurdles, junior
Ejim Nnate (Port Jefferson Station, NY/Comsewogue) took 12th place in a time of 9.16. She then ran a personal record of 27.37 in the 200-meter.Â
Freshman Margaret Petty ran a personal best of 8.40 in the 60-meter sprint to finish 48th, while sophomore
Danielle Jackson (Bronx, NY/Central Park East) was 50th with a time of 8.43.Â
In the 200-meter, Jackson ran a 27.70, while
Taylor Johnson (White Plains, NY/White Plains) ran a personal best of 28.04.Â
Junior
Ella DePhillips (Monroe, NY/Monroe-Woodbury) competed in the mile and ran a career-fast time of 5:17.85 to place fourth in her heat.Â
Oneonta concluded the day with the men's distance medley relay of
Jonthomas Bierman (Mamaroneck, NY/Mamaroneck),
Alec Weiss (Selden, NY/Newfield),
Luke Jarski (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa), and
Owen Sullivan (Huntington, NY). The squad ran a 10:17.04 for 21st overall. Â
A group of Red Dragons also traveled to compete at RIT. Junior Alexander Mavros placed fourth in the 60-meter prelims at 8.93 and then ran a personal best of 8.78 to finish second in the finals.Â

Vincent Zheng (Nanuet, NY/Nanuet) hit a mark of 13.65 meters in the shot put to place sixth. Junior
Isabella Fabrizio (Highland Mills, NY/Cornwall) placed sixth in the weight throw at 14.46 meters, and
Hannah Jackson (Poughquag, NY/Arlington) took 14th at 13.27. In the shot put, Fabrizio shattered the school record with a mark of 13.63 meters to place second overall. Fabrizio had the previous record of 12.88 set last season.Â
Freshman
Chad Franklin (/) tied for sixth in the long jump at a personal record of 6.72.Â
Oneonta continues action on Saturday at the Valentine Invitational and MIT Gordon Kelly Invitational.Â
