MADISON, NJ – The SUNY Oneonta men's tennis team went to Drew University to compete in the ITA Regionals this past weekend. A few Red Dragons picked up a win with freshman Brayden Stuart (Albertson, N.Y./Herricks HS / New Hyde Park) leading the team with three wins in the singles "C" draw.

Senior August LePique (New York, NY/Columbia) faced Lebanon Valley College's Jesse Beck in the first round of the singles main draw. LePique defeated Beck 8-4 to advance to the round of 32. In the next round he faced Baruch's Juan Mendoza where Mendoza won, 8-1. Sophomore William Schmid (Yonkers/Salesian HS) dropped his first-round match to Hobart's Nick Grosso, 8-4.  

Along with Stuart, senior Joshua Mann (East Greenbush/Columbia) and freshman Zachary Blaakman (Penfield/Penfield High School) picked up multiple wins in the singles "C" draw. Stuart bageled Ramapo's Joey Moon, 6-0, defeated Fairleigh Dickinson Florham's Brandon Scwartz, 6-4, and beat Drew's Santo Carroccia, 6-4. Both of Mann's wins came over the Rangers Sergey Kravchenko and Yassine Rahi. He defeated Kravchenko 6-1, and Rahi 6-4. Blaakman walked away with a 6-4 win against Drew's Ian Michel and bageled FDU-Florham's Quinn Carmody, 6-0.  

Freshman Chris Chippari (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Roy C Ketcham), sophomore Braden Greenberg (Northport, N.Y./Northport), and junior Noah Khair (New Delhi, INDIA/National Institute of Open Schooling) each won a match in the "C" draw. Chippari defeated Drew's Nico Mobayed, 6-3, Greenberg beat Ramapo's Julian Baretto, 7-5 and Khair upended Carroccia, 6-4.  

The Red Dragons are back in action Sunday when they host Farmingdale at 1 pm.
