ONEONTA, N.Y. – The SUNY Oneonta field hockey team fell in their conference match against Geneseo, 4-1, on Saturday afternoon. Graduate student Morgan Fleming (Harpursville, N.Y./Harpursville) was the lone scorer for the Red Dragons. They now sit at 5-8 on the season, while the Knights rise to 9-4. 
Geneseo opened the game, scoring within the first three minutes with a goal coming from Ada Roe. The quarter would end with five tallied saves for Oneonta sophomore goalie Maura Leib (East Syracuse, N.Y./East Syracuse Minoa). 
The second quarter again opened with a goal from Geneseo's Katrina Clare in the 16th overall minute of the game. Fortunately, Fleming got the Red Dragons on the board with a goal in the 20th minute of the game. The quarter ended with another Geneseo goal scored by Hanna Pochobradsky off of a penalty shot, ending the first half of play 1-3 in favor of the Knights. 
The third quarter began with another Ada Roe goal, scoring in the first 44 seconds of the new half. The Red Dragons had the opportunity to score on a penalty shot, but unfortunately, Geneseo goalie Sarah Quinlan was able to make the save off the shot by Fleming.  
The fourth quarter remained the same score, with attempts coming from both sides. The game ended with the score remaining 1-4 in favor of the Knights. Leib played all 60 minutes of the contest, finishing with 18 saves on the day, while Geneseo goalie Sarah Quinlan finished with three saves.  
Geneseo out shot Oneonta 34-5 and drew 15 corners versus Oneonta's four corners. 
The Red Dragons are back on the road at Nazareth College on Sunday at 2 p.m.Â
