A Quick Look
The SUNY Oneonta men's track & field team completed its two days of competition at the SUNYAC track & field championships yesterday afternoon at Brockport and came away with a fourth-place finish scoring 65 points.  The overall team title went to Geneseo.

The Inside Story
The leading performer for Oneonta was junior sprinter Chris Ganley (Pine Bush/Pine Bush) who took a pair of top-4 finishes in the short sprints.  Ganley posted the Red Dragons' top place-finish overall with his third-place finish in the 100-meter dash.  His finals time was 11.03 seconds, but he posted a personal best time of 11.02 seconds in the prelims on Friday.  Ganley also scored points in the 200-meter dash with a sixth-place finish in that event.  Ganley's finish in the 100 earned him a medal and 3rd Team All-Conference honors.

Ganley also ran the second leg on the 4x100-meter relay that finished fourth in a time of 43.35 seconds.  He was joined by sophomores Eric Nieves (Thornwood/Westlake), Luke Jarski (Massapequa/Massapequa) and Alec Weiss (Selden/Newfield).  Nieves scored points as well with his fourth-place finish in the 100.

The sophomore duo of Richard Mangogna (Kings Park/Kings Park) and Aidan Kelly (Farmingdale/Farmingdale) posted personal best scores in the decathlon finishing fourth and fifth respectively in the event.  The two athletes switched spots on the top-5 list all-time for the program with Mangogna jumping to fourth with his 5,080 points and Kelly moving to fifth with his score of 5,026 points.  Kelly also placed fourth in the high jump to add five points to the team score.

In his last conference championship meet, senior Norberto Cervantes (Williamson/Williamson) posted a fourth-place finish in the hammer and a fifth-place finish in the discus.

Junior Miles Moliterni (Pine Bush/Pine Bush) and freshman Vincent Zheng (Nanuet/Nanuet) each posted fifth-place finishes in the hammer and shot put respectively.

Sophomore Clifford Biehl (Babylon/Babylon) and freshman Marco Altieri (Staten Island/Staten Island) finished 7-8 in the javelin throw.
