A Quick Look
The weather finally cooperated, and the SUNY Oneonta men's track & field athletes took full advantage during the last two days with many personal best performances at the Cortland Classic.
Â
The Inside Story
Leading the list of top performers on the track was junior

Eric Nieves (Thornwood/Westlake). Ganley also posted a personal best performance in the long jump.
Â
Nieves ran an AARTFC qualifying time in the 100 with a personal best time while also recording a PR in the 200.
Â
Mangogna posted personal best marks in four events during his first decathlon competition of the season. His final score of 4,834 points was a personal best score as well as putting him in the No. 5 spot all time in the event for the program.
Â
The throwers had another dig week in all the events starting with the hammer where five athletes had their career best performances. Leading the way was senior
Norberto Cervantes (Williamson/Williamson) who was just shy of a personal best mark while moving up nationally in the event. Joining Cervantes with PRs in the event were classmates
Jason Briscoe (Delmar/Bethlehem Central) and
D'Shaun Ricketts (Mount Vernon/Mount Vernon), sophomore
James Tumia (Rochester/Greece Arcadia) and freshman
Marco Altieri (Staten Island/Staten Island).
Â
Altieri was joined by classmates
Aidan Kelly (Farmingdale/Farmingdale) and
Clifford Biehl (Babylon/Babylon) in posting personal best marks in the javelin.
Â
Sophomore
Tobias Gaynor (Morristown, NJ/Morristown) posted an AARTFC qualifying time in the 10K and classmates
John Balk, Jr. (Suffern/Suffern) and
