The SUNY Oneonta men's track & field team had a busy weekend of competition sending athletes to both RIT and Boston University.

The Inside Story – RIT
The Red Dragons competed Friday afternoon at RIT and came away with numerous personal best performances.
Â
A pair of rookies led the PR parade, as freshmen Marco Altieri and
Nicholas Festa (Cornwall/Cornwall Central) each posted two personal best marks in their individual events.
Â
Altieri posted personal best distances in the shot put (8.84m, 29') and the weight throw (13.73m, 45").
Â
Festa's personal best performances came in the 1-mile run (4:57.72) and 1000-meter run (2:58.64).

Oneonta's lone event win was turned in by sophomore
Eion McClain (Andover, NJ/Pope John XXIII) who ran a personal best time of 15:47.19 in the 5K.

The next best finish was a second-place finish in the weight throw by senior
Norberto Cervantes (Williamson/Williamson) who posted a season best mark of 17.54 meters (57'-6").

Sophomore
Alex Mavros (Hopewell Junction/Arlington) turned in the final top-5 finish with a third-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles. Mavros crossed with a personal best time of 9.05 seconds.

At Boston University, junior
Chris Ganley (Pine Bush/Pine Bush) turned in a pair of personal best times on the track. He posted his marks in the 60-meter dash (7.20 seconds) and the 200 meters (23.16 seconds).

A trio of sophomores also posted personal best times in the 200 including
Eric Nieves (Thornwood/Westlake) (23.26 seconds),
Alec Weiss (Selden/Newfield) (24.05 seconds) and
Aidan Kelly (Farmingdale/Farmingdale) (24.61 seconds).

The final PRs for the Red Dragons were turned in by sophomores
Jonthomas Bierman (Mamaroneck/Mamaroneck) and
Luke Jarski (Massapequa/Massapequa). Bierman posted his best performance in the 3K (8:33.80) and Jarski ran his best time in the 800-meter run (1:55.61).

What's Next
Oneonta will be at Cornell University next Saturday as its final competition before the SUNYAC championship.
